Golf Information And Tips That Can Improve Your Game

Your golf swing can be difficult to master. Hooking a shot to the left, slicing to the right, landing in the sand trap, and watching the ball roll off the tee are all frustrating parts of the game. If everyone only had their own caddie to choose the right club, it could be a lot more fun. To become a better golfer, you need to learn as much as you can and practice often. This article is filled with useful golf information for players.

Challenge yourself and get golf info you can depend on. You should never underestimate your shots. If you go into a hole trying for par, you will not get any higher. If your goal is a birdie, then shoot for an eagle. The brain is one of the most powerful tools you have on the course, so do not underestimate what can be accomplished when you put your mind to it and have good golf information to refer to..

It is helpful to know that some days your game will be great, and other days it will be terrible. This is inevitable, and if you let yourself be bothered by a bad golf day, then you might not be motivated to practice and continue playing the sport.

Make sure that you're testing out any club before you actually play with it. People with longer arms need different clubs than people with shorter arms, the same goes for overall height, hand size, stance style, and many other golfing factors. Try clubs on for size before you purchase anything outright. Golf lessons can help here.

In order to get the most out of your golf swing, avoid being over-active with your legs. The legs are important in shifting your weight and providing power, but by overdoing it you take away from the speed that is generated by whipping your wrist through the moment of impact, making excess leg speed a detractor of distance.

Golf Information

If you want to keep the most accuracy with your golf shots, it's important that you keep your hands low on the follow-through. While it is important that you do follow through on all your golf shots, following through too much will throw your shot off and cause the ball to drift.

Golf Lessons

When you decide to commit to golf lessons, don't expect your coach to do all the work! You are sure to learn some new techniques in your lessons. Follow through by putting in a fair amount of practice between lessons. After your course of lessons is over, get more golf information and continue practicing, and supplement your knowledge with videos and books to perfect your style.Get golf info that will continually improve your game.

Golf Clubs

Both experienced golfers and new golfers will appreciate the benefits of using hybrid clubs to improve golf skills. The head of a hybrid club is larger than a standard iron, and this will allow better control of the ball. Hybrid golf clubs just might be one of the biggest improvements to the sport of golf in a very long time.

Golf Information--2011 Year In Review At Get Golf Info

2011 had many great golf stories to remember .Luke Donald came up with 14 top ten finishes in tour events to show that you don't have to be a six foot plus gorilla to score high in PGA events.
Tiger Woods is starting to show signs of a return to his former greatness with solid plat at the Australian Open and a win at his own event.
Yani Tseng, a brilliant 22 year old, dominated the LPGA this year--a reminder of similar dominance in the past like Anita Sorenstam.Take a look at the 2011 golf Year In review by Fox News for more of the story. The following is an excerpt from their full review:

2011 Golf Year In Review
Published December 26, 2011
| Sports Network

Philadelphia, PA –  The 2011 season in professional golf could be known for a few different things.
First, Tiger Woods won again.
Granted, it was his own unofficial event with 17 other players in the field, but a win is a win. Woods' Chevron World Challenge title was his first victory since the 2009 car accident that derailed his personal and professional life.
Ever since Woods lost his No. 1 world ranking, no one really claimed it as his own. Lee Westwood test-drove it. Martin Kaymer hung on for a time, but Luke Donald made it his own.

We had Rory McIlroy blow the Masters in epic fashion, then come back and win the U.S. Open so convincingly that the final round was less exciting than a tepid bath.
The team international events were excellent, as always.
Most of the majors on most tours were thrilling.
With some of the stars of the game on the downswing of their careers, new blood stepped up and performed.
But when it came to performance, the 2011 season belonged to one young lady.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR - The Year of Yani
All of 22 years old, Yani Tseng continued an old tradition on the LPGA Tour -- dominance.
First, it was Annika Sorenstam in the early '00s. Then, Lorena Ochoa owned women's golf until her retirement.
With both gone, Tseng, who bought Sorenstam's old house and must be inhabited with the Swede's presence, has risen to the top of the sport.
Tseng won 11 times worldwide, including seven events on the LPGA Tour, and two of the victories were majors. When she captured the LPGA Championship (by 10 shots), Tseng became the youngest golfer -- male or female -- to win four majors.
When she successfully defended her title at the Women's British Open, the same record applied -- youngest to five majors.
For a point of comparison, Tiger Woods collected his fifth major title at the age of 24. Sorenstam didn't win a tournament -- any tournament -- until she was 24.
Tseng almost had a third major of 2011, but finished as the runner-up to Stacy Lewis at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Tseng squandered that title in the season's first major and didn't do that again.
She made 21 cuts in 22 events, finishing in the top five in 12 of them and the top 10 in two more.
She led the tour in scoring average by almost a FULL stroke and was the only player who averaged under 70 strokes per round. Tseng had almost 60 more birdies than anyone on tour and to top it off, she led the tour in driving distance.
Tseng is the No. 1 player in the Rolex Rankings and the No. 1 golfer in the world for 2011.

Golfing Apps Are The Latest Way To Improve Your golf

Learning to play golf is a great experience and a lot of fun for most people. Learning to play really well is another kettle of fish altogether. This takes a lot of dedication, many hours on the golf course and a lot of time spent in practice at the driving range. The latest aids in learning to plat golf are golfing apps for your mobile phone. here is an article from the  Weekly Shredder which explains this well:

Golf Pro App Makes Teaching Students Easy

It is really interesting to discover how much the smartphone app marketplace is transforming the way we set about our lives. One area that this is noticeably widespread is within the area of the game of golf. Today, with huge boom in the mobile telephone marketplace, cell phone apps are swiftly turning out to be one of the most desired ways to increase someone’s enjoyment of the things they really like while on the go. In this article, we are going to examine the golf industry along with the popularity of various golfing programs that are getting snatched up by golfing new comers in addition to pros around the globe.
Your apple iphone leads the golfing mobile app industry by far along with 1000’s of golf programs accessible followed by golfing applications for Android mobile phone in addition to golf applications for Blackberry.
There are thousands of styles of golf programs readily available which support many wants for any golfing fanatic. However, it really is very difficult to pick a qualified golf smartphone application as this may end up being challenging to differentiate the actual options along with positive aspects between them.
Below is a number of the primary different types and desires which golfing mobile phone programs make an effort to fill:
Gps navigation Applications — compute distance to certain marks close to the actual greens.
Training Applications — offer anything from golfing instruction, speedy recommendations as well as exercise exercises in different platforms such as textual content, visuals and video tutorials.
Golf Swing Analysis Applications – permit you to record your golf swing while you are actually playing so that you can target your worst areas that need improvement
Scoring Applications – help a golfer to keep store digitally, so as not to have to do it by hand. Plus, it tracks your stats!
Organizational and scheduling applications – these types of apps will let you book your tee times, sort out the places to play in your area and find driving ranges to practice
Different Gaming Applications — these are apps that you can play and they are similar to popular arcade games
Rules – provide quick access to the rules of golf
Golf Informational Apps – provide updates and news related to golf.
Of all the applications mentioned, which ones are sold the most? Without a doubt, applications revolving around navigation – Golf GPS apps – are the ones everyone wants because they are reliable and have lots of sexy features people enjoy. Besides this fact, what is really fascinating, is that golfers rely on the convenience that a Golf app provides – most golfers say that their Golf GPS app is better than your normal navigation system for finding courses that are in the area. One thing that golfers and pros agree on though, is that a golf app for navigation to your favorite course does need cell phone connectivity in order to work. Other apps do not require this. What this means, is that if you want up to date yardage stats, you need to have to have your cell phone, otherwise you are out of luck.
The next set of golf applications that are popular are the ones that offers tips. These types of apps are great because it is almost like having a golf pro or caddy right inside your pocket. In many ways, these golf applications are like having a PGA pro with you as you actually play or practice the game.
Finally, based on sales, the third most popular golf software on the market today is swing analysis. These apps, as mentioned earlier, allow a golfer to record their swing while they play. Then they can upload it for further analysis later, or send it to a golf pro for feedback.
One thing is for sure. The various golf apps on the market today are changing the way people play the game. So, get out there and play around with them and see which ones you like the best. In time, you will be swinging away like never before and your scores and enjoyment of the game will certainly improve.
For the most up-to-date golf swing analysis software, stop by golfproapp.com. For golfing pros, this is basically the location to get the best golf app for ipad currently available.

How Do You Warm Up Before Playing?

Some of us do very little if any warm up practice before playing a round of golf. Wiser players who have searched for golf information, head for the practice area, and at least get in a few minutes of swing practice to get their muscles ready to handle the job properly. There is little doubt that those who do put in some time in practice before a round will play better and achieve a better score. If it is an important game we would certainly be well advised to do everything which will help us to play better,  and a good warm-up ritual is well worth the effort. Here is golf info that Joan Nurey had to say about this subject

WARMING UP FOR A ROUND OF GOLF
When it comes to warming up for a golf game, a lot of golfers think that hitting the driving range is enough. Actually, working on your different swings and getting familiar with the weather conditions will help to make your golf game the best it can be.Golfing on a windy day is much different than if the air is calm. Your golf game is also affected on days when the temperature is hot than when it's more moderate.? Here are a few warm-up tips from those who hit the golf courses regularly.Starting out by driving is fine, but make sure that you start slowly. By choosing a short iron for the first few drives, you are allowing your muscles to loosen up. Gradually work up to longer drives, but keep in mind that the goal isn't only to see how far out you can drive the ball – control is more important than distance and this is your chance to gather your skills to exercise that control.Just driving the ball is not enough. Warming Up For A Round Of Golf – Don't Injure Yourself On The Course Playing any sport you need to make sure that you are properly warmed up before you begin to prevent any injuries, unprepared muscles can seize or cause pain which will obviously be an inconvenience as you'll likely be unable to Canada Goose 7950Y play the sport for some time to recover. Golf is a particular sport where injuries can happen very easily especially if the player does not warm up before playing. Preparing For Your Round of Golf Playing a Round of Golf is more enjoyable when you have warmed up and prepared yourself mentally and physically for the first tee. Arriving early will allow you the time to unwind, focus your thoughts and warm up your muscles for the day ahead. Some Simple Golf Warm Up Exercises Warming up before a game of golf is very important and often overlooked. These few simple exercises will get you loose and ready to play. Golf Fitness: You Should Warm Up For Lower Scores For Duffers Uncover the secret to a good start for your next round. This key to success on the first tee and beyond is about to make you a much better golfer. And it only takes a few minutes to make it work. Read on.Some people think an adequate warm up is simply making a few good drives. Practice a little chipping and putting as well. Try to make the most of your swing, especially if you've had lessons recently.? A round of golf means more than just teeing off.Getting your mood under control is a vital warm-up tip in golf.? The goal is not to take your frustrations out on a golf ball; it won't help your game at all. Take time to focus on your game, get calm, and forget about your troubles.? A bad mood can greatly affect your golf game.A warm-up session is not the place to try out new clubs, swings, or try new techniques at all. This is the time you make the effort to play your best game, as if you were at the first tee. It's fine to try a few practice swings if have been practicing them already, and you want to try it in your first game, but don't get carried away during your practice session.? The point of the warm-up session is to loosen your muscles and build your confidence. You can't do that if you are trying something totally new, and you keep making mistakes. By using the techniques you're used to, you will be ready to congratulate yourself on your triumph during your warm-up and your game.If you think that you don't need a good warm up session before your golf game, think about how you typically play if you don't warm up. How is your first tee? How are the subsequent tees? Did you have to spend most of the game making up for poor strokes in the beginning? The warm up is your chance to make your mistakes before they end up on your scorecard.? By taking the time to warm your muscles and mind up, you'll play a more confident game of golf.

This material is quoted from Joan Nureys blog.

Warming up for any strenuous activity is always recommended by experienced athletes. Muscles which are suddenly required to perform an activity which is accompanied by muscle strain, may be damaged if they have not been readied by performing some warm-up exercises. Driving a golf ball from the tee puts heavy stress on not only arms but on shoulders and back as well. This is why it is highly advisable to do some more gentle club swinging as practice, before putting the maximum strain on your muscles. Make it a habit before every game and protect yourself from injury.

Hole In One--A Big Winner At Las Vegas

How many of us have never hit a hole in one? The great majority of average players I would say. Here and there you come across someone who has had one or two aces in a long playing career but he is probably a better than average player and has played a lot of golf. For most of us it is a wondrous event to see that little ball soar through the air and land within 10 feet of the hole. When it actually plops right into the hole that is an occasion for pure amazement and joy.It will of course win you a special prize in lots of tournaments. It was a very special occasion for Jonathan Byrd when he scored an ace at Las Vegas. Here is his story as related in
Golf Las Vegas Now:

Las Vegas, Nevada (September 14, 2011)--It is customary for golf courses to put plaques on the course to mark historic shots. And now, a plaque has been placed in the ground marking the spot where the first "walk-off' ace in PGA Tour history was recorded. In 2010, Jonathan Byrd aced the 17th hole at TPC Summerlin during a playoff to win the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. --By Brian Hurlburt.

Byrd was on hand for to unveil the plaque recently, but it's interesting to go back about one year and relive the moment. Byrd knocked in a 6-iron in growing darkness. The shot zapped the playoff hopes of Cameron Percy and former Las Vegas champ Martin Laird. Byrd: "It's kind of hard to process because I'm still kind of in shock," Byrd said minutes after hitting the shot in 2010. "I've got to go back to the putt before on 18. I hit a poor shot into the green and get kind of fortunate that it stays up in the rough and hit a chip and gave myself a chance to stay in the golf tournament and just made a great putt from about 12 feet, I guess, stayed in the tournament. We're sitting there on 18 green trying to decide whether we're going to keep playing or not, and I wanted to -- I felt like we could get one more hole in on 17, and the other guys did, too. We decided just one more hole, and if we get to the green and it's too dark, we'll stop. So I'm up first, and I've played that hole well in regulation and in the playoff, hit good shots, and just went through my same process, and for me it was put a 6-iron kind of back in my stance and try to play more of kind of a sweeping draw into that left pin and curve it over to it. It started perfect, it turned perfect, and it was coming right down the flag. I thought I hit it too good. I thought I hit it too far, and I couldn't see anything. But to hear the reaction as it went in, I was just in shock. I was trying to be considerate of my playing partners because two more guys had a chance to keep playing, and I didn't want to overreact. I'm numb pretty much."

Byrd on what his playing partners said when the ball went into the hole: "I mean, they were pretty excited, I think. I mean, it's pretty hard to follow that. They came over and were very gracious and congratulated me and told me, "great shot." Both of them did and the caddies. And everybody was smiling. I think when something like that happens that's out of their control, there's not much they can do about it. They've got to figure out a way to follow it up."

The above material is quoted from Golf Las Vegas Now

Now that was a hole in one that really counted and won a tournament for a lucky golfer--for lets face it luck is the name of the game when anyone gets an ace on the golf course.  Most of us shoot for the green and if it rolls in that is a real piece of fortune which we gleefully accept. Would that we could really aim for the hole and hope to succeed more often.

How About Gifts For The Golf Enthusiast

To get just the right golf info and gift for a golfer friend or golfing family member can be a bit of a problem for someone who knows little about golf. Maybe you should get him/her a golf club. But then what if it doesn't fit well with the clubs they already have? A box of golf balls perhaps--but there are so many types of golf balls for different players. The following article published by the Edmonton Journal may give you some guidance.

We all know golfing is an incredibly popular hobby, and there are more than 70 courses in the Edmonton area. Golf is a challenging sport that keeps us coming back for more, so why not help your favourite golfer with their game? Try a rangefinder, a cool electronic device that finds the pin and determines the distance depending on the elevation. They are a couple of hundred dollars at least, but if you're buying for a dedicated golfer, it will be worth it.

If your golfer is spending too much time searching for their golf balls, try a pair of golf ball locating glasses from Hammacher Schlemmer. The lenses in these golf ball-finding glasses contain a pigment that helps to filter light as it passes through, causing white golf balls repeatedly hit into the rough to stand out against dark backgrounds. They have a plastic-resin frame with form-fitting wraparound styling and scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses with a urethane nose bridge. Not intended for use as sunglasses. One size fits most. These sell for $39.95 at hammacher.com.

Jim McCulley, Callaway Golf's northern Alberta representative, recommends the Razr Hawk driver. According to the Callaway Golf website, "the sole and crown of the RAZR Hawk Driver contains more than 23 million turbostratic carbon fibers that reinforce 67% of the clubhead. This allowed engineers to precisely control thickness like never before, resulting in a clubhead that's lighter, stronger than titanium but still has an extremely high moment of inertia. What Does It Take To Be A PGA Tour Winner?

To be a winner on the PGA tour these days you certainly do not have to be the biggest strongest athlete in town. There is no better example of this than Luke Donald who won this years Jack Nicklaus Award as the PGA Tour's best player for his fourteen finishes in the top ten.

Luke Donald is no Hulk Hogan at just 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds he is of pretty average stature. What he lacks in size he more than makes up for in sheer skill and intelligence. He planned to get to the top and he has succeeded. An interesting comment on this is made by Doug Ferguson in  Golf  Digest.

Donald wins PGA Tour player of the year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Already No. 1 in the world, Luke Donald now is No. 1 in the eyes of PGA Tour players.
Donald capped off a sensational season Tuesday by winning PGA Tour player of the year, the most significant of the postseason awards because it's a vote of the players.
He became the first British player to win the award since it began in 1990.
"It's a great honor to cap off what has been an amazing year for me," Donald said from the Australian Masters in Melbourne. "Thank you to all the players for their votes. There was obviously some other worthy people to vote for, and I guess my overall consistency and having to go to Disney and win, and win the money list like I did, was a deciding factor.
"I feel very honored at the moment."
Donald won the award over Keegan Bradley, Bill Haas, Webb Simpson and Nick Watney. An official familiar with the results described it as a landslide. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the tour does not release the votes or the order in which the players finished.
Bradley, whose two wins included the PGA Championship, was voted rookie of the year.
It was only the fifth time in the last two decades that the PGA Tour player of the year did not win a major. Even so, Donald made a compelling case, especially at the end of the year.
He won two tournaments, as much as anyone else this year. He won the Vardon Trophy for the lowest adjusted scoring average. He had top 10s in 14 of the 19 tournaments he played, a rate of consistency only Tiger Woods has known in this era.
But it still came down to the end of the year.
Simpson won twice in the last three months of the season, and entered the McGladrey Classic to try to capture the money title. He took over the lead with his runner-up finish, and Donald decided to enter the season finale at Disney.
Needing nothing short of a win, the 34-year-old from England turned in one of the best performances of the year. Donald began the back nine of the final round with six straight birdies and closed with a 64 to make up a five-shot deficit and win by two.
While only his tour record counted for this award, Donald last week became the first player to win the money title on the PGA Tour and European Tour in the same season. He won twice in Europe this year, including Europe's flagship event at Wentworth when he beat Lee Westwood in a playoff to take over as No. 1 in the world. Donald expanded his lead in the world ranking the final seven months of the year.
He achieved all this with moderate length off the tee, demonstrating that while power helps, it's not the only way in golf.
"I've done a lot of things this year that probably not a lot of people would have given me much chance of doing," Donald said. "I think in the last 10 or 20 years, the power game has really taken control of golf. But I think I've been a little bit of a breath of fresh air knowing that's not the only way you can be successful. Through a good short game, good putting, managing your game, you can be successful in other ways.
"I think I've proven that quite considerably this year."
Still left to prove is winning a major. Woods in 2009 and 2003, Greg Norman in 1995 and Nick Price in 1993 were the only players in the last 20 years to have won PGA Tour player of the year without capturing a major that year.
Donald tied for fourth in the Masters for his best finish in a major.
"I suppose there's a little bit more pressure, a little bit more expectation, in majors and I need to learn to better handle that," Donald said. "Obviously, this year has been a breakout year for me in terms of my confidence levels, and hopefully those confidence levels will be carried over to next year and will serve me well in the majors."

So we mere mortals of average strength and stature can aspire to be great golfers it seems. All it takes is superior skills and dedication to the game. With a little bit of intelligent planning thrown into the mix we can make it to the top. We don't have to watch the six foot five giants slam the ball down the fairway and think well what hope has an average size guy got to win against someone like that. Develop your skills, use your brain and be a winner.

Little doubt about it. if he continues to play as well as he has lately he is headed right to the top of the leader board again. Here is some great discussion about Tiger from ESPN

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Had the winning putt not dropped, had the outcome been different, Joe LaCava's take would not be different. A victory for Tiger Woods at the Chevron World Challenge was nice, but it did not change what LaCava has been seeing, feeling for weeks.
LaCava, Woods' caddie, saw the improvement made from the Frys.com Open in October -- where Woods was never in contention -- to a trip halfway around the world, starting with a series of exhibitions in Asia and Australia, followed by the Australian Open and Presidents Cup.
It was at Royal Melbourne where LaCava noted that it was a shame this stretch of golf would be coming to an end after the Chevron tournament, which Woods won on Sunday by birdieing the final two holes -- his first victory in more than two years.
"I wish this were the meat of the schedule right now,'' LaCava said. "I wish we were just getting going. I wish it were February right now.''
Woods, after his most impressive stretch of golf since winning the 2009 Australian Masters, will now go seven weeks without hitting a competitive shot. His next scheduled tournament begins Jan. 26 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, a European Tour event in the Middle East.

Allan Henry/US PresswireTiger Woods isn't slated to play another competitive tournament until Jan. 26 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the European Tour.

Never one to string multiple events together, Woods nonetheless will get into a flow of regular tournament golf once the 2012 season begins.

Tiger Woods is on his way to a total comeback to his former glory. The world of professional golf needs a great player who can dominate public interest in the way Tiger used to. We believe Tiger in 2012 will surge back to the top of the leaderboards.
